Almost ninety (90) percent of WWII Veterans who survived WWII have passed away since the war ended 66 years ago. Approximately 1,000 WWII veterans pass away daily across America. Their average age is in the late 80s.
"Our objective is to take all WWII veterans who apply for Honor Flight and live east of the Cascades to Washington D.C. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE".
"Your generous donation of $900 will send a WWII veteran to Washington and pay for lodging, meals, tours, distinctive WWII cap, HONOR FLIGHT OF EASTERN OREGON t-shirt, flag flown over the US Capitol, WWII Memorial book, and a photobook of their "once in a lifetime" trip. You can donate in any amount."
Donors will be rewarded depending on the level of donation. More than 95% of your donation is spent on honoring WWII Veterans. Please help send a member of the "Greatest Generation" to Washington BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
WWII Veterans travel free of charge in appreciation for their WWII service and sacrifice preserving our freedoms. If you are a WWII vet, and have not been to the WWII memorial, and not on our waiting list, please click here to download a veteran's application. They are accompanied by trained HFEO staff and Guardians.
As a guardian, it will be your responsibility to care for the veterans (1-3) on your team as though they are family members. We ask that guardians cover their own expenses. The total cost including air fares, meals, and lodging for a flight from Portland, OR to Washington DC and return is $900.
If you are interested in volunteering for one of our Honor Flights as a Guardian, please click here for an application.
